It was quite an intriguing game last night as Atletico Madrid faced Manchester United in one of the Round of the round of 16 matches played last night at the Wanda Metropolitano stadium in Madrid yesterday.
The game which fans from both teams has been anticipating, did not disappoint as the game had many action but was short in goals as expected.
Atletico Madrid took an early lead, thanks to a wonderful headed goal from promising youngster Joao Felix, who connected beautifully from a perfect timed cross from Atletico’s leftback Renan Lodi.
Atletico were the team pushing on to add to their lead but were unlucky to find their second goal of the game.
The equalizer came late in the second half from another youngster Anthony Elanga who was a substitute in the game. He was assisted by Bruno Fernandes who registered his 7th assist of this season UCL campaign.
The game ended 1-1 and both teams will have to face-off again at Old Trafford in March 15th for the second leg.
Moving forward, if the aggregate scoreline is tied, they’ll be two extra 15-minutes extra period of extra time. As the away goals rule was scrapped from all UEFA club competition. Here was my prediction of the game in my preview. And I’ll dropping more predictions on my YouTube channel.
